Quality links increase the visibility of your website in search

Local SEO dental marketing

All dental practices have a fixed address. Local SEO is perfect for attracting patients “near me.”

There are two types of local SEO; Google Maps and organic Google results

Google Map Pack

  • Google Business Profile controls your map ranking
  • Proximity, Prominence, and Relevance control your rankings
  • Prominence is the number of reviews, and relevance is if your services match the search
  • Limited to one area and a few (categories) keywords
  • No barrier to entry, not even a website is required

Organic Search

  • Not connected to your profile, only uses the reviews as a ranking factor
  • Unlimited keywords and locations
  • Simple to scale and effective
  • Less competitive as it takes work

Google Mapss: improve your rankings

Google My Business/Google Maps

Improved Google Map rankings lead to more local patients

  • First, we optimise your Google Business Profile to ensure it is complete. Then we update the profile monthly with photos, posts and events.
  • Improved Google Map Ranking: Your profile is linked to your Google Map ranking. It has nothing to do with your website. The only external factors that can help are review numbers, proximity to the searcher, and how well the rest of the internet confirms your Google profile information.
  • Profile confirmation: these are called citations. We regularly set them up for clients, and they confirm your NAP: name, address and phone number.

Packages are inexpensive, starting at £495 per month.

SEO/ Google Organic Search

Appear number 1 in Google

  • First, we agree on a list of keywords and locations with 25 miles
  • We then write and create landing pages for these keywords + location
  • We then optimise for Google and AI
  • We then build backlinks

Organic search packages for dentists start at £950 and can include Google Map rankings

FAQs

Common questions

How will you improve our visibility in local search results?

We will do two things. To improve your Google Map rankings, the second is to write copy and build pages for all your dental treatments and associated keywords (like Invisalign, cost of Invisalign). That way you have the 3 pack inclusion in Google Maps, and if the user passes that and goes straight in Google’s search results, we have results there too.

How will you help us rank higher in Google Maps?

Google Maps is linked to your Google Business Profile. If we complete all the information and create a plan to keep the profile updated with photos, blogs, events, etc., we can slowly improve our Map Ranking. Collecting reviews and having a clear strategy to increase the number of reviews are also important factors.

What local SEO work do you actually do each month?

We report on exactly what we have done every month. All clients buy 10,20 or 30 hours a month. In this time, we brainstorm, create content plans, write copy, build web pages, improve patient journeys, optimise code for Google and AI, analyse data and report both on Zoom and in a report.

How long will it take before we see results?

If you have an existing website, then it is 90 days. If you have a new website, then it typically takes 6 months.

How do you measure success for a dental practice locally?

There are two very important KPIs: web conversion (when a user presses a submit button, WhatsApp link, Enquirybot button, etc.) and actual practice-level conversion. How many patients came into the practice, and what treatments did they receive? Whilst there are other KPIs, such as traffic, Google Ranking, and AI mentions, it is sales and revenue that matter most to our dentists.

Will you fully optimise our Google Business Profile?

Everything that can possibly be tweaked and improved, we have been doing this since 2007.

Can you help us get more Google reviews?

We can advise you, supply QR codes and links, and help you draft emails and even SMSs.

What should we do about negative reviews?

Always be polite and reasonable, and try to understand the patient’s point of view. IF the review is toxic, then Google can remove it for you.

Does our website need separate pages for each clinic location?

Yes, we build separate pages for Counties, Cities, Towns and sometimes even postcodes.

Can you optimise our site for the towns and areas we want to target?

Yes, we can. We could even appear in areas far away! Organic search is much more flexible than Google’s local Pack.

What kind of local content should a dental practice publish?

It’s not really local content; it is a list of dental services and information you offer to patients in (or near) that location.

Will you clean up our business listings across directories?

Yes, we can. Unless you have recently changed locations or names, it is not always necessary. It is time-consuming, and there are quicker ways of solving the same problem.

Why are other dentists outranking us locally?

They have older websites than you; they may have more reviews, built more local web pages, and a better backlink profile. There are many reasons, so it’s best to give us a call, and we will have a look for you.

Yes. Citations are for your Google Map ranking, and backlinks are for organic search or SEO.

Is our site technically holding back our local rankings?

This is the first thing we check and change. If your site is slow or not loading correctly on other devices, then this is an issue. It is quick to fix.

Will local SEO bring the right patients or just more traffic?

Both the right patients all live close to the practice. However, so do the wrong patients. The idea is to gain enquiries and phone calls from both and let you decide.

Can we target high-value treatments like implants or Invisalign locally?

Yes, you can. Most practices rank for dentist + their location. They don’t think about optimising for Invisalign and dental implants. We have written more dental implant content than any agency in the UK!

Which areas should we target first?

Always the location where the practice is based. Then we fan out approximately a 30-minute drive. This is not the same in cities. We want to rank #1 in all areas for all keywords.

Can we rank in areas where we do not have a physical practice?

Yes, of course. In Google Maps, you are limited to one location and the areas that border it. In our experience, patients will travel if they believe they are going to see a specialist, receive a better service or save money.

What exactly will you report on each month?

The reports list all data, from rankings to how many times your phone ranks. They also include all of the copy we wrote, the pages we created and the optimisation (coding) we did. It is more for our records than yours. Reports can be tailored to include any data you wish.
